So the Nova Scotia Liquor Commission is considering acquiring the old Royal Canadian Mounted Police detachment in Chester.How ironic when one considers the historical and present duties of the Mounties in terms of dealing with alcohol.And now the school kids can protest about not being able to go there for lunch as well.Another great irony,as you drive into Chester.On the left, the symbol of a promising academic future.On the right,the symbol of a possibly alcoholic future.A great philosophical conundrum. Well here we go.A topic that is a classic for the purpose of this BLOG.Does Chester need an indoor swimming pool?There are strong arguments on various sides on this one.Captainkidd is not going to take a stand for or against.Instead he would like to point out some other more important discrepancies that should be a priority for the Village.Just walk or drive around and look at the condition of the streets,ditches and drains,overgrown brush along streets and intersections and garbage.Let's make sure we have a well-baked,tasty cake before we start smothering it with frosting to try to make it look and taste good.
